Confession: I've been slacking on lunches.
In fact, I often work through lunch, and forget to eat, or I just throw something together, and keep on moving.
It's been a while since I've actually sat down to enjoy a lunch, so I made a point of doing so, today, and it was totally worth it.

My baby brother got married a few weeks ago. It was an awesome weekend for my siblings and I to spend time together, especially since we're a bit spread out, geographically. The evening wedding was followed by a raucous late-night karaoke party, and a barbecue the following day.
In case you're wondering, I sang Chumbawamba in a shameful performance during karaoke.

I hope everyone had a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving, filled with love, laughter, and a ton of delicious food.
We sure did.
I posted a series of photos of our vegan meal on Facebook, and had many requests for several of my recipes -- most of which were already here, on SexyVeganMama.com.
Then, I got a few messages and a phone call, asking for my baked beans recipe.

Let me tell y'all... I had a hell of a day, a couple days ago.
First, the bathroom sink backed up to high heaven, and after hours of plunging, pleading, and crying, it still wouldn't drain. I had blisters on my hands, funky water from head to toe, and nothing was working.
In desperation, I locked the bathroom door, and began to pretend that room didn't even exist.

I have this friend. Well, okay, he was Mr. Wright's friend, first, since they went to school together, but I'm claiming him as my veryownpersonal friend, because we share something Mr. Wright does not:
Craig and I both eat an entirely plant-based diet.
So, who is this guy, anyway? Well, for starters, he's the creative brain behind Craig Olsen Interior Design, but he's also a fantastic actor, Christina-Marie Wrighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16669501917338549778noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2646404336662099072.post-17970768364863960362017-09-13T14:55:00.000-07:002017-11-10T15:22:00.131-08:00Gluten-Free Pizza Crust & Cashew "Cheese" SaucePizza... pizza... it's like its own food group, right? I was born in a small town...
Actually, I was born in Seattle, which is not exactly a small town, but certain neighborhoods within it have a significant "small town" vibe.
Ballard, I'm looking at you.
Anyway, now I live in a small town. Well, small-ish. It's definitely summer weather around here, and that means picnics and potlucks, and outdoor parties. There are all the standard potluck salads -- most of them groan-worthy to the vegan. Potato salad (with bacon!). Jell-o salad. A promising pea and carrot salad... whoops... no. That's mayo (and bacon!). And, of course, there is pasta salad.

Maybe you, like Donna Summer (the queen of the "come hither look," by the way), are sittin' there, eatin' your heart out, waiting...

Can you improve upon perfection?
Sometimes, you can.
I'm not talking about, say, trying to improve the greatest song ever written and performed (which, by the way, is Maxine Nightingale's "Right Back Where We Started From" -- this is not a debate). Some perfection can't be outdone.
But, let's say you have a perfect cookie recipe. Even a super-creative Wonder Woman like Sexy Vegan Mama gets stuck in a rut, sometimes.
Seven kids with lives, a rockstar husband (literally), a bustling sexual health education business to run (I'm a popular girl)... Dinner has taken a backseat, and our local pizza delivery guy probably expects to be written into our wills by now. He's practically like family, at this point.

People are using cauliflower for all sorts of things that cauliflower might not have even known it was capable of, itself. Like for pizza crust. And pie crust, believe it or not. And "steaks." I'm still loving the one-pot pasta thing, like the rest of Pinterest . After doing this recipe makeover, I was hooked! Put all your stuff into one pot, boil and stir... How easy is that?!
For this one, I was craving something a little sweet. And a little spicy. And really creamy.
Actually, I was kinda premenstrual, but I personally feel that's when the best recipes come about. I may or may not have tied one on (a green one, at that) during St. Patrick's Day festivities in the past. You know, during my younger years?
These days, with work, kiddos and a schedule that makes the Marines look like wussies, a good Shepherd's Pie is as Irish as I can get on March 17th.
This is how this year's went down:

Last November, Mr. Wright and I found ourselves in New Orleans for a business conference. I'd been dying to try some of the local vegan fare -- which, by the way, is becoming easier to find in the Big Easy -- and we had an evening to kill.
We hitched a pedicab to Seed, which served us not only amazing Southern vegan comfort food, but the best matcha tea ever brewed this side of Tokyo.

Let me tell you a thrilling story about a recent grocery shopping adventure...
What? What's that? You say grocery shopping is neither thrilling, nor adventurous?
It IS, when you're a mommy, and shopping is the closest thing to "me time" you'll be able to hope for over the next decade or so.
Anyway, there I was, browsing the clearance bin -- because, you know, I'm thrifty like that -- and Christina-Marie Wrighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16669501917338549778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2646404336662099072.post-44516059237091254342014-07-30T11:30:00.000-07:002014-07-30T11:30:01.088-07:00Gluten-Free Vegan Avocado Fettuccine Alfredo with Zucchini and Tomatoes
It's zucchini season. Yup. That means there are zucchini aplenty, begging to be used.
I mean, a lot of zucchini.
So much zucchini, in fact, that a sane person doesn't dare to leave her or his car unlocked, for fear that the absent-minded fool will return to find the vehicle filled to the top with zucchini, unloaded by desperate farmers, trying to rid themselves of the smothering squash.

Can you really make anything with just three ingredients? Outside of, say, "mommy's vitamin water" (lemonade, ice, vodka -- don't judge)?
Well, sure... if one of the ingredients is a cake mix, which arguably has a bunch of ingredients, but since I only have to open one box, I'll concede it is "one ingredient."
This recipe popped up in my Facebook feed the other day. Intrigued, I read the Christina-Marie Wrighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16669501917338549778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2646404336662099072.post-62475999496733915272014-07-06T21:23:00.000-07:002018-09-22T18:57:26.764-07:00Recipe Makeover: Gluten-Free, Vegan One-Pan PastaMy Facebook feed and Pinterest PICC line (to be perfectly honest, a straight mainline is what's really necessary for Pinterest) have both been blowing up with this "one-pan pasta" thing.
Let's face it -- it's not new. It's a method used by line chefs in restaurants around the world, but... can we mere mortals pull it off? Apparently so, according to this post, which was inspired by Martha Christina-Marie Wrighthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16669501917338549778noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2646404336662099072.post-78810018083849130392014-05-07T08:30:00.000-07:002014-05-07T08:30:03.579-07:00Mexican Stuffed Peppers: Gluten-Free and Zesty!
I don't remember what my mother used to stuff her peppers with, but I do remember that I always looked forward to them. As a kid, the idea of essentially an entire meal, stuffed into a handy little vegetable "bowl" was pure magic.
I wish I could apply the same "everything fits tidily with magic" process to things like:
